Have you switched from combined pill to mini pill?

I’m early 40s and wondering if I should look at switching from the combined pill to mini pill? If you have has it been ok for you?

What's your reason for switching?
I did it 15 years ago or so, not a fan. My periods are all over the shop and I have to literally take the pill exactly at the same time each day to keep them somewhat regular. +/- 10 min and I end up having periods every 10 days to a fortnight.
Unfortunately, due to family history of DVT they won't prescribe me my normal pill and I have similar experience with other contraceptive devices.

I was swopped onto a progesterone only pill because of my age and weight at one of my annual pill checks. It's been fine for me.

I switched for age and weight reasons as well post pregnancy - it was fine, not much different to being on the combined for me with the same side effects (low mood, low libido etc) after about 4 weeks of a 'period' initially I didn't have one since. 4.5 years later I have just come off it just to get back my libido and moods and saw an instant change so pill free for me at present.

I switched for weight and age reasons. Have had to try a couple as the first one absolutely destroyed my libido (but stopped my periods eventually, after an initial month long bleed..), but the one I'm on at the moment is OK (sadly periods came back with this one, but are usually fairly light and short). Libido still not quite what it was, but definitely much better (and hell, I'm older and more tired so that might be nothing to do with the pill 😂).

I did, because of migraines. Mini-pill was fine, migraines issue sorted, but it absolutely killed my libido!
I'm off it now, took a few months for my periods to come back but otherwise no issues at all (and the libido is backGrin)

My main reason to swap would be because I’ve read that some peri / menopausal supplements aren’t good to take with the combined pill and I want to be able to take supplements for additional support with those symptoms at some point.

I had to switch when I had migraines. After a short settling down period, it stopped my periods completely which was fantastic. But then when I went back on it after I had my DS, it never settled down and I was just bleeding constantly for weeks on end, got so frustrated that I gave up entirely and just use condoms now!
