I overheard a conversation at softplay the other day.

This woman said to her friend that she's not going away this year because they're focusing on sorting things/finances out. And proceeded to say "so we're just going to Center Parcs for a week" as though it was fucking Pontins🤣

FUCK OFF. Center Parcs is extortionate🤣

Anytime I hear ‘unhinged’ or ‘batshit’.

effoffwind · 11/04/2024 21:04

My work colleague has been getting her " ducks in a row " for about 8 years
Every time he pisses her off , she seems to plan a new escape route

BlondeFool · 11/04/2024 21:05

Did you mean to be so rude?

@Vacantstare "Did you mean to be so rude" is a hugely overused comment on Mumsnet!

BlondeFool · 11/04/2024 21:09

@Vacantstare the most mumsnet comment I've ever heard! I was in a corner shop and the shop assistant wasn't being rude at all!

I get you🤣

It clearly is a very Mumsnet comment as I'd assumed someone was coming onto my post to berate me for daring to laugh at what I overheard🤣

Give my/ your/his/her head a wobble. Cringe.

MummaMummaJumma · 11/04/2024 21:36

I thankfully haven’t heard this in real life, but laugh every time I see “Raise your bar, OP” on Mumsnet.

Another one is “Is your bar that low, OP?”.

Seems to be very popular on here.

Eggplant44 · 11/04/2024 21:57

I haven't seen it in real life, but "lack of a moral compass" is used a lot on MN when someone's beliefs don't coincide with those of the poster.

Idontjetwashthefucker · 11/04/2024 22:09

Ick isn't a mumsnet thing, it's been around since I was a kid...and I'm fifty

Idontjetwashthefucker · 11/04/2024 22:09

Ick isn't a mumsnet thing, it's been around since I was a kid...and I'm fifty

And it's usually not applied correctly here, people ask for icks and it's just a list of dislikes. Icks are irrational. Drives me crackers.

Itsrainingoverhere · 11/04/2024 22:52

LTB

Zola1 · 11/04/2024 22:54

Oh my god this is obscure but people who say UTTERLY. So Mumsnet..I know zero people who use the word utterly

RosesAndHellebores · 11/04/2024 23:08

Eleventy billion. 🙈

I use that, but I thought I got it from the Tubbs (of Royston Vasey) method of counting!

OnHerSolidFoundations · 11/04/2024 23:28

@maudelovesharold i don't know what that is.

imeanwhy · 11/04/2024 23:29

Prob something about clothes drying out and getting "darked on"?

maudelovesharold · 11/04/2024 23:39

OnHerSolidFoundations · 11/04/2024 23:28

@maudelovesharold i don't know what that is.

A series called League of Gentlemen set in fictitious, strange Royston Vasey, where the local shop (for local people) is run by Edward and Tubbs. When they do a stocktake, Tubbs (who can’t count) states they’ve got twelvety of everything!

OnHerSolidFoundations · 11/04/2024 23:40

Thanks Maude
