To think there could be something wrong with me?

I'm 30. Historically diagnosed with iron deficiency anemia. Treated with tablets and now on a daily dose.

I've had a pain in my left side for around 2 years. It comes and goes and feels like a stitch. Had tests for celiac, negative. Ultrasound couldn't see any abnormalities.

I'm fairly active. Have a physical hobby which I do every day, walk the dogs once a day and occasionally go for a run.

I'm always exhausted. I can sleep until 11am and then feel like I need a nap by 3pm. Usually go to bed around 11pm.

I eat a well rounded diet, get my 5 a day and don't smoke or drink excessively. However I often just feel not right.

WIBU to take this to a doctor or is this just normal?!

I don't think it is normal to be exhausted but there are so many reasons that it is hard to begin unravelling why you might feel this way.

What sort of ultrasound did you have

Notinthemood12 · 11/04/2024 16:17

I would go back to docs and ask for stool to be checked for infections initially, also an internal pelvic ultrasound in case of an ovarian cyst

Notinthemood12 · 11/04/2024 16:17

Also thyroid and vitamin d and b12 checked

I’d ask them to run bloods - check your iron, ferritin, folate and B12, as well as thyroid.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Unfortunately, I've already had all of those checked and they were normal!

Pelvic exam was fine.
Thyroid fine.
Iron levels normal (but on the low scale)
Slightly high B vit levels.
Stool sample normal.
