To get tue hump when Booking.com cancel my booking

They have taken my money and then cancelled my booking but now want me to prove l have paid it! Bank app doesn't let you do a screenshot for security reasons, printer is broken and local branch of bank shut down.
Also can anyone recommend any budget hotels in Venice please if such a thing exists?!

Sorry to hear. Did you pay the hotel direct or pay via B.com? If latter then BC should be finding you alternative accommodation...

Most apps will have a way. I was convinced for ages that I couldn't take screenshots on my banking app. Then I discovered there was an option to download or share my statements...

Or if you have a laptop log on there and take a photo, my bank app doesn't allow a screenshot from my phone either

Didn't think of that at all,so raised a dispute with my credit card company.

I gave Booking.com my credit card but wasn't meant to pay until l arrived - no - the trip is a few months away still x

That's weird.
I used the pattern "book now and get charged later" a lot, but the charging has always been managed by booking and always happened on the announced date, with extra email notification and so on.

I'm not saying it didn't happen, just that it seems irregular, like that either someone managed to scam you, or scammed the platform, which kind of explain why they ask for some documentation to understand what has really happened.

I once got a real bargain accomodation in Venice islands in university dorms. It was really a dorm style accommodation (shared bathrooms, no AC, just very old stone building), but the ratio of price and location was absolutely amazing. However, I was booking it through the same web, so if it was still an option, you'd see it.

We stayed in hotel pausania in duseldora. I think you either love it or hate it. We loved it. Yes the rooms are small but it's an old building.
It's right on a quiet canal. 15min walk to St Marks Square- follow the crowd in the morning and you can't get lost! Italian fast food within a few hundred yards or posher restaurants a short walk.
