Had my blood taken by the doctor. Ferritin is 47

Had it done via finger prick test by medichecks and it’s come back as 130

AIBU to think that the medichecks test is not reliable and I shouldn’t take any notice?? They were both taken within a couple of days of each other so how can there be such a big difference?!

Are they definitely both ferritin levels? The second isn’t haemoglobin?

It says ferritin.

I got my blood results back on Friday and have iron tablets but now not sure whether I should take them if the 130 reading is the correct one… so confused

Medichecks is often higher than NHS for some bizarre reason. Always recommend to stick to same provider.

Also, I would always trust venous over finger prick. They are more accurate for a number of reasons, despite medichecks claiming otherwise.
