To wonder (post office scandal)

Where has the money gone that people paid?
Will it come to light?
I haven't heard alot about this side of it?

It would have just shown in Royal Mails profits, so gone in dividends to shareholders, which could be anyine with a pension plan as well as the directors, or some would have gone in business cosrs, branch refurbs etc.

I read in a newspaper once that the money was taken by people who worked with fujitsu like they had access to a free ATM. Little withdrawals here and there for fun, the system they had built allowed for this theft. Reminds me of people who clone cards then use it for ages only taking small amounts so you wouldn’t notice.

Oh, and the directors of the company would have probably received increased bonuses as tgere profits were artificually increased. Tgese are the ones who should have to pay tge cists, not the taxpayer.

I think it just went into the Post Office bank account, and then 'oh look, we've made a surplus, we can pay dividends to shareholders, afford to do X etc'

I thought I read somewhere that the money was in an account for a while then was later moved and recorded as sales/income.

Questioned by MP Ian Lavery at a Commons hearing last week, Post Office chief executive Nick Read said “it is possible” the cash was spent on bonuses.

I think more recent headlines and the second site investigators have suggested it went into post office profits.

That's a good point. I wonder about other companies using the same software - surely they would have similar issues

No idea - but the more I learn about this scandal the more I'm incredulous with rage.

We are the first country to judge others for state sponsored corruption.

Probably went to pay off that Paula Vennells and the others who knew what was going on , yet still denied it was them in the wrong

So the Post Office Chief Executive claims not even to have known that they were initiating prosecutions? Sure.

What I want to know is how these incompetent idiots get these jobs? So many competent individuals who never make it to the top of companies, yet people like this who are all slotted in, years after year, decade after decade.

Gosh there was some wriggling and squirming at the inquiry today trying NOT to say 'yes this money went into profits, and yes we all had a slice of it...'
