Nope, I'm exactly the same. So many useless, venal arseholes that I can't wait to see get their comeuppance. Starting with my smug, corrupt dickhead MP.

RytonTarget · 07/04/2024 11:52

Many of those we most want to lose their seat or are most likely to do so have already indicated they will stand down.

RosaRoja · 07/04/2024 11:53

Let’s hope so. My local MP is standing down. It would have been good for the soul to see him annihilated at the GE. Though I think whoever they’ll fly in to “fight” it will win it, unfortunately that kind of place.

Pascha · 07/04/2024 11:56

My constituency boundaries are changing. We will be on the Eastern edge of a very large somewhat rural Brand New constituency so it's all to play for this time.

It's historically a very very safe tory area but no sitting mp means it's all to play for this time round.

Bluevelvetsofa · 07/04/2024 11:58

My local MP is standing down. I would have liked to see him go, but it would be unlikely. They’ve also moved the constituency boundaries, so our MP will be someone further from us geographically and is also unlikely to be anything other than the Tory.

JoJothegerbil · 07/04/2024 12:13

I can't wait.

My own personal wish list is:

Rees-Mogg
Andrea Jenkyns
Lee Anderson
Jeremy Hunt
Michael Gove
Kemi Badenoch
Suella Braverman
And my own useless MP, Scott Mann

This is not an exhaustive list. Pretty sure there are many more I will be delighted to see toppled as well.

SwedishEdith · 07/04/2024 12:16

So many are aware of this now that they're standing down first. Frit 😃. That was such an amazing night though.

Zyq · 10/04/2024 23:56

Several of them aren't standing again just so as to avoid this embarrassment. As my Tory MP has a very small majority, I'm quite sure that's why he's decided to bugger off.

TheaBrandt · 10/04/2024 23:58

Although it transpired he was actually quite a decent person.

Rees Mogg is weirdly popular in his constituency sadly.

Evenstar · 11/04/2024 00:02

I am making a bingo card of Tories for Election Night so we can use bingo pens to blot them out as they fall, we may even play along on Zoom with friends and family and have a prize. You are 100% not being unreasonable

JockTamsonsBairns · 11/04/2024 00:03

Rishi Sunak himself is my local MP.

Sadly, Richmondshire is a fairly staunch Tory stronghold. I'm not certain what might happen, but I suspect something of a dent in his majority.

Fizzadora · 11/04/2024 00:04

Well unless she's standing down, I can't think that the lovely Esther will lose Tatton.
I do use my hard won for vote every time but to be honest there's not much point.

ilovesooty · 11/04/2024 00:11

I can't wait to see Andrea Jenkyns (my former MP) and Philip Davies (neighbouring constituency) get booted out.

ToWhitToWhoo · 11/04/2024 00:17

Hoping for Jacob Rees Mogg, Suella Braverman, Jonathan Gullis, Lee Anderson (probably will, as he's now Reform), Michael Gove, Miriam Cates, Danny 'Dunning' Kruger, Philip Davies, Mark Francois, Iain Duncan Smith, Liz Truss of course (but she won't; her constituency is ultra-safe Tory).

As pleasing as it would be, Braverman's majority is absolutely enormous, a literal outright majority, and Fareham is about as Tory as it gets, so as bilious as she is, it's unlikely she loses her seat even in the event of a catastrophic Tory wipeout.

Best case scenario is she sticks around because she fancies herself as Furher in the continuity Tory party, finds out that Tory members usually shit the bed at the prospect of electing an ethnic leader even if they agree with them on policy, she fails, and then swans off to the lunatic-right touring scene in the US.

Who is going to end up leading this shower after Sunak falls on his tiny sword is a frightening prospect. The heavier the defeat, the worse and more extreme those who remain behind will be, so if it's not Braverman it's likely to be someone every bit as clueless, vicious, and loathsome, or worse.

ilovesooty · 11/04/2024 00:24

Sadly I suspect Kemi Badenoch is bulletproof. I'd like to see her get her marching orders.

johntorodesfatcheeks · 11/04/2024 00:49

here’s hoping it’s fish in a barrel stuff

HarrietSchulenberg · 11/04/2024 00:57

The Tories appear to not actually want to win the next GE. They know what's coming and they have no desire to sort out the mess that they and their predecessors have made over the last 14 years. They want to hand it all over to someone else to sort out but will go hell for leather to drag in as many opportunities to line their own pockets before they do so.

Not to mention making as big a mess as possible for the incoming government to deal with.

Is there a possibility that Priti Patel might go? The memories of her smirking at all kinds of serious issues is nauseating,

Unfortunately not.

Like Braverman, I think she fancies herself as a potential leader of whatever is left of the Tory party post-election, but just like Braverman I think she's also a candidate to chuck it in a fit of pique if the membership rejects her, and swan off to do something else.

These people aren't serious politicians, they are self-aggrandising far-right grifters, so if what's best for them suddenly lies outside Westminster, that's where they'll go.

PinkJellyCat2023 · 11/04/2024 01:35

I just can not see Jeremy Hunt going. Honestly if a cardboard stood for election in his neck of the woods it would be voted in. I do love seeing his election posters being defaced though
