To get annoyed about muttering?!

I am seeking your views on this becuase I am consumed with PMT and do not trust my own instincts. I asked DH to do me a favour which was a bit of a pain in the arse favour but nothing too onerous. He said "yeh sure" from the kitchen, but then I heard him go "for fuck sake" under his breath. I said "Is that okay, do you mind?" and he, not realising I heard the muttering, said "yep, no problem!". He said sorry when I pointed out I heard him, but I am really annoyed by this, like if I am pissing you off, have the balls to tell me rather than acting like a put upon waiter; all polite but silently simmering. Am I wrong to feel a bit murderous about this??
Yours hormonally.

Depends what it was. Make a cup of tea? Build an ark in the back garden? Context is all.

He was delaying cleaning the car and I asked him would he clean it now instead of later so I could go out in it to go for a walk.

Who hasn't muttered under their breath from time to time? I think the key point is that he apologised.

He denied it at first now in fairness to him 😂

Wouldn't it have made more sense for it to be washed after you'd driven it? Otherwise you'd just get it dirty again.

<misses the point>

I'd be annoyed if you'd asked me to clean the car at a time not convenient to me. Clean it yourself if that important to you. I would have muttered too!

Well I’d have muttered back at you that I would be making you a very nice dinner this evening and that I’d cleaned the bathroom today which wasn’t utterly convenient for me, so perhaps you should be more gracious about cleaning the car!! 😬

Not annoyed enough to post on MN.

Wooloohooloo · 06/04/2024 17:29

Why do you need a clean car to go for a drive in it? 🤔

WhatFlavourIsIt · 06/04/2024 17:34

We all do it. Sometimes, i stand in the kitchen and shout a silent fuuuccck you . Life's too short to spend your day off cleaning the car. Go to the car wash on the way to the walk.

Thanks ❤️ It was actually a hoover clean rather than a wash but I get you,

OP, just take the car through the car wash on your way home. Costs £3.50 at Sainsbury's.
If you feel that grim with PMT (I've never had it so can't judge) please see your doctor. Life is too short.
