I don't know if others have the same experience but every spring my garden seems to be infested by what I am guessing are fleas. They seem to be attracted to seams on my clothing and then jump to warm bits of my skin to bite me, often hours later when sitting on the sofa. They are just about big enough to see and catch, although they jump a few inches when cornered, so need to be squished on a hard surface to kill them. The fewer clothes I wear, the easier to avoid, but I'm reluctant to sit outside or even take the bins out unless it's cold or rainy. By summer they seem to have died down, but it's a real bugbare to not even be able to pop out without examining sock edges/jeans etc in case they get brought in and then hide on the sofa until hours later. I've taken to mowing the lawn in loose shorts and flip flops but they can even get under the flip flop and bite the small amount of warm skin they find. Any advice on how to make this less of a stress would be appreciated.
