Shallow male waiters

I know I'm not BU but just need a rant. I'm currently in an AI hotel in Egypt. I'm 36, a 6/10 at the best of times and overweight at the moment. I'm on holiday with DM's Ukranian guest who is young, slim and a good 9/10.

The difference in service from the all male waiting staff is horrific!! So easy to get a drink when she is next to me, the waiters pounce as soon as we walk in the door. When alone this evening I sat at a table for 27 mins with no waiters approaching me before I caved and flagged someone down 😩

Is life really that much easier for attractive people?? I think I always knew it was, just so depressing!

pros and cons... blessing and a curse type thing. You say it's easier for attractive people, she may say it's more annoying for the unwanted, un welcome attention, the constant having to field attention, conversations she isn't interested in, etc.

pros and cons

Life is definitely easier for those who want something, to make their needs known like an adult.

If I want a drink/food/anything from a member of staff anywhere, I ask them for it.

I don't even think about misogynistic 'scoring' of women.

I bet you she feels constantly watched and I can almost guarantee none of them want to actually talk or know much about her. I'd rather be like a fly on the wall myself!

Ella31 · 06/04/2024 01:03

I feel for you, but your mindset is off. Why are you scoring yourself and other women out of 10. That's all part of the vicious cycle you are describing. Enjoy your holiday.

It’s Egypt. Not implying this doesn’t happen elsewhere but Egypt is particularly bad and you are not missing out. On previous work trips, I’ve been so harassed in restaurants, I ate in my room for the duration of my stay. On another trip, a waiter got a copy of my room key and let himself in, in the middle of the night. Egypt has an enormous problem with sexual harassment of women.

I’m in Egypt right now too at an AI resort and yes the attention is a lot, however I’m 43 and a size 14 so not sure what that says!

we also tip the waiters and bar staff so get great service.

the men here are very openly pervy, have no problems with hitting on you etc but far more open with it than Brit guys, today the life guard asked my age, he then said I had a very small face to be a father 😂
