I feel utterly rubbish. Head cold I think.

We are low on supplies (though not entirely) and I am side eyeing the idea of a takeaway.

My question is; aibu to order through the likes of uber or just eat despite the regular posts on social media about orders not turning up?!

If so, what would you order? Please choose for me so I don't have to use my aching head. Tia.

Chinese. Ribs, fried rice, and sweet & sour prawn balls. Do it, you know you want to.

OldTinHat · 05/04/2024 18:02

Uber Eats and my favourite driver has just delivered (ingredients from sainsburys, not a yummy meal!) and he has never let me down yet. I always send him off with a cake, chocolate bar or, today, bag of Wotsits! And then I end up tipping as well.

I also use Deliveroo. Also excellent. I don't send that driver off with anything because he's about 16 and very shy. One time he arrived and I said, 'yay, my favourite person!' and he went from wtf to 'really? Am I?'.

Both are great. I've never had a problem with orders. Never had anything missing. I wholly rate these delivery people, 100%

Oooh, sorry, missed your question. A chow mein. All day long. Any type. What time shall I pop round?!

Supersares · 05/04/2024 18:04

Chicken kebab for me please 👌🏻

KreedKafer · 05/04/2024 18:05

We use Deliveroo and JustEats. If you’ve got a cold with that horrible blocked sinus-y feeling, I recommend ordering something spicy - Thai or Indian would be my choice!

BeachBeerBbq · 05/04/2024 18:05

Spicy and garlic anything for cold. The kore spicy and garlicky the better! So like madras and garlic naan which I add garlic to😂
Hits the sick craving trifecta of spice, garlic and caaaaarb for me.

Direct from restaurants. Uber are fucking extortion twats

Rosestulips · 05/04/2024 18:08

Drink lots of water afterwards! I’m always really dehydrated from takeaways

PietariKontio · 05/04/2024 18:08

To be honest, I'd just go with fish and chips from my local chippy

Northernsouloldies · 05/04/2024 18:45

Jumbo haddock supper.

RabbitsRock · 05/04/2024 18:47

We’re getting KFC on our way home - I’m having 2 boneless chicken pieces with regular fries.

MonsteraMama · 05/04/2024 18:51

Ooooh spicy beef pho is my go-to when I have a cold, the Vietnamese place near us will do it blow-your-head-off spicy if you ask for it and I swear it's cured a few of my colds. We don't have any issues around here with Uber eats and deliveroo not turning up, they're very reliable.

StaceysDaughter · 05/04/2024 18:54

A nice spicy madras to help with the cold 👌🏼

HeresMyBreakdown · 05/04/2024 18:57

Thai green curry

SevenSeasOfRhye · 05/04/2024 18:59

Domino's pizza, veggie supreme with extra anchovies and black olives.

RobertaFirmino · 05/04/2024 18:59

Anything hot and spicy will be medicinal. By ordering the hottest curry you can manage, you will be helping yourself.

Can't you order direct from the takeaway?
I never use 3rd party apps. Most places have their own website

I'd probably go for beef and cashews with a side of fried rice

Or a burger.

Pippa246 · 05/04/2024 19:03

Thai green curry and sticky rice or what I call a “teenager Chinese” which is salt n pepper chips, fried rice and curry sauce.

Hoglet70 · 05/04/2024 19:07

I've just had pizza (Uber Eats are good where I live).

ThirtyThrillionThreeTrees · 05/04/2024 19:08

A vindaloo if you want to sweat the toxins out of you.

A Massaman if you want to feel comforted and warm.

Either with half rice, half chips.

Caroparo52 · 05/04/2024 19:13

Prawn massaman curry and jasmine rice. Prawn crackers

DonnaBanana · 05/04/2024 19:36

Order some nice ingredients from Waitrose or Ocado and make yourself something healthy

Domino's pizza, veggie supreme with extra anchovies and black olives.

We could never be friends.

weegiemum · 05/04/2024 20:50

We're waiting for our Indian to be delivered by Just Eat.

Pakora, chicken bhuna (me), korma (dh) plus a couple of veggie side dishes (Aloo Gobi and bindi bhaji), naan and fried rice. Will do lunch tomorrow and Sunday as well (we have a big dinner on Sunday, not lunch).

And puppadoms!!

SevenSeasOfRhye · 05/04/2024 21:01

peakygold · 05/04/2024 19:46

We could never be friends.

How about a thin crust Farmhouse with extra jalapeños and spicy beef? 😁

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 06/04/2024 09:49

I ordered a deliveroo twice whilst I was away recently, and both were unpleasant. One was nasty. I've never ordered before, and not tempted to do so again.
