Dawson Leary....unbearable self righteous prick?

Just re watching the first season as it's on TV. Dear God he is the most appalling character. Entirely unsympathetic. No wonder everyone ends up on Team Pacey! It's a credit to the rest of the cast that this stayed watchable. Not an AIBU I suppose unless there are any Dawson fans out there?

He is only 15 in season one.

He changes as he grows up. Otherwise it probably would have made the whole show a bit dull.

By the end he's the most sensible. Pacey is chasing around after married women and Joey's life still centres around picking between two guys...

They're all pretty unbearable on second watch (or 5th). Still got a lot of love for it though. Beats the OC hands down.

I know he's only 15 but still.... It dies get much better as it goes on and still I watch the finale special once in a while. JJ and MW went on to excellent careers.

You can really tell what a good actress MW is from that last episode can't you. It's no wonder she's had far more work than the rest of them.
