Hullo!

A family member is running their first HafMar this weekend.

Oh gosh I hope this isn't too outing 😉.

We're heading down to watch, would like to see them a few times on their route.

I understand there's some sort of tracker that you can use to make sure you can liaise with them en route.

I was thinking of heading to The City, there seems to be a cluster of places where we could see them.

What's the atmosphere like? Will people let you to the front if you've got a runner due to pass?

Any other tips or experiences would be helpful, I'm from the provinces. 😂

I am running this for the first time on Sunday!

There is a LLHM app and if the runner downloads it I believe they can share their profile and you can follow their progress.

There are a couple of Facebook group for LLHM - it might be worth joining for spectator tips but you are right there is a spot in the City when the route zig zags back on itself a few times. As a first timer I'm not sure if that is the best place to stand though.

Check with the runner what wave they are in too. There are eight waves in total - four starting at 9am and four at 11am.

I don't know, but have come on to say I absolutely ADORE your autocorrect mishap 😂😍I've spectated at a couple of marathons and you're right, we are super-spectacular!

Thank you! And good luck, you've got this!

Thanks for the tips. We know the correct wave.

I think we'll meet before the start and then head over to The City.

Hehe had to look for the autocorrect!

Yes we're spectacular but gosh every single person who can run 13 miles is a champion. So admirable what they're achieving Halo

Hope you found a good spot to stand today OP. Looks like The City was a popular spot. I was absolutely blown away by the support from the crowds. It was a fab day and I hope you enjoyed it.

Thought it was an excellent day!

The atmosphere was wonderful and everyone was very considerate of each other.

We managed to cross paths with each other 4 or 5 times in the City but missed her finish because she stormed the last 5k and finished 20 minutes earlier than she expected.

Definitely will watch again!

Glad you had a good day too 🥇.
