Neighbour WhatsApp

Some new owners were added to the neighbour WhatsApp group this morning.

Everyone was sending welcome messages. One of the neighbours said 'welcome x&x, are you parents yet?'

Slightly personal, don't you think?

(One of my children is IVF so I'm maybe sensitive)

It's a slightly presumptive question but in their shoes (and we're in our 4th year of TTC!) I'd just take it as a well meaning question trying to find common ground.

Surely everyone knows you don't ask questions like that?! It would make me feel very uncomfortable if I was the new neighbour. I think I'd just completely ignore the question.

The new neighbour has indeed ignored...

The woman in question is nice, just obviously not up to date on what's appropriate to ask!
