Is this unreasonable of my landlord

I recently moved out but I still have the keys to the house as tenancy doesn’t run out till mid April. Landlord is aware of this. They want the gas safety cert doing as it’s expiring but they want me to pay to top up the gas meter to allow it to take place. Aibu to think this unfair? The landlord wants me to do this so they don’t have to pay to top up and get it done after I’ve handed the keys back.

I should add that he didn’t give me a gas safety when I moved in. I had to top up and then arrange it with the gas safety engineer after I’d moved in

Unless it's in your tenancy agreement that you have to do this then no. You don't have to pay to allow this

I think that you will be obliged to pay for the daily standing charge on the gas until the end of your tenancy (and the energy company might chase you for the debt if you don’t) but you aren’t obliged to pay for gas for your landlord to use.

If you still have the keys and the tenancy is still running you are still responsible for gas. Standing charge and if the heating needs to come on periodically for heating etc
