To give away my cat as I'm allergic

I seem to have developed an allergy to my cat. It started about 2/3 years ago. My sinuses get inflamed and I get an awful sinus headache frequently. I have all the usual allergy symptoms like itchy eyes and ears.

I've been on two types of prescribed antihistamines but they didn't make a noticeable difference.

I just can't go on like this. I feel awful about considering giving my cat away but I don't know how I can go on like this.

Cat is 8 years old.

Got to be worth a try first surely? Think it takes up to 8 weeks to be fully effective.
