To worry about my diet in the first trimester?

I have some serious food aversions and cannot stomach plain water without heaving.

I’m trying to eat what sounds the least repulsive - this changes by the day.

I’m managing weetabix with milk every morning and a fruit smoothie.

Everything else isn’t the best nutritionally.
I’m eating a lot of chocolate cake (craving), digestive biscuits, pasta with stir through sauce, that kind of thing. The only fluids I can tolerate are diluted cordial, apple juice or Coke.

I’m just concerned about my intake of vitamins and minerals, though I am taking pregnacare each day. Does it sound ok?

It'll be absolutely fine, don't worry.
I ate absolute shite throughout my 5 pregnancies and had 5 very healthy babies!

You've got to watch out for anemia and as you are about to give birth and other minerals. You lose a lot of minerals via birth. You'll have bloods done via your MW to check on that. Supplements are fine. Get out in the sun over summer. The majority of women eat what they can keep down, doesn't give them heartburn and whatever they crave.

Honestly OP try not to worry about it. My first trimester diet was 70% mcdonalds and 30% crisps, now 9 months pregnant and both baby & I are perfectly healthy!

I wouldn’t worry too much. The food I could stomach varied drastically between my first and third trimester so you may find you can eat/drink different things as you go along. I’d just focus on eating what it takes to keep your strength up and drinking whatever it takes to stay hydrated at this stage!
