Good news for you, there are 364 other days in the year you can be a grumpy grouch 😊 some people still like to have a joke and a bit of fun. Go lie down in a dark room. Tomorrow's another day you can take yourself seriously.

Other than a couple of (obviously) fake silly adverts and news stories it's not exactly a big noticeable thing really - is it?

I don’t know- my ds very much enjoyed bouncing into my room to tell me we were being robbed this morning

(we have a lot of people in the house, live in a safe area, my room is by the door so I hear everything, everyone else was calmly going about their days and it was broad daylight)

So clearly not true but he has SEN and it made his day when I said “oh no! Have they stolen Grandad??” and he could tell me it was April Fool’s Day- he was very proud to have ‘got’ the idea.

I don’t hold with being mean, but I’ve never come across any April Fool jokes that were actually cruel.

Today fb insisted it had snowed overnight in Devon. 😂

You know what, I wish I was caught but I feel like on this day (until 12?) I’m ALWAYS second guessing everything. So stupid really 🤣
so I don’t believe anything or get too involved anywhere with anything either.

i know my post sounded a bit miserable but I genuinely think it’s a stupid day.

I remember people pretending to be pregnant on this day.. it’s not funny!

I suppose I’ve just changed over the years. Maybe more sensitive and definitely less trusting!

I don’t get the problem with what is half a day for a light hearted prank, unless you live with a joker that is taking it to the extreme.

My best April Fools joke was the midwife announcing my son was 9lb he was actually over 10lb when they weighed him correctly. Means now I forget it's April Fools day as I am too occupied for his birthday and end up not realising things are a joke 🤣

generally I have a gsoh and play pranks on my dh/famiky and vice Versa.
but I find on April fools I always come across something that’s gone too far 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️

It doesn't really register with me but I do hate the false pregnancy ones. It's not creative or funny and seeing what my close friends went through to have their baby, I couldn't imagine throwing pregnancy around as a joke. Fortunately I haven't seen those ones for a while now.

What have you come across today thats gone too far, OP? I don't watch live TV, assume everything on FB is a wind-up anyway,and it's Bank Holiday so noones really around. What's caused this sudden sense of humour failure for you?

It’s just another day though. I can’t work out the angst on this one.
The only reason I have even noticed is my DH sent my kids a joke news story about their favourite game.
It has not impinged on my day at all otherwise.
Just ignore it and carry on as normal.

am autistic - spend my whole life trying to make sense of the world - April fools day - my inbox and feeds are full of ‘fake’ aka ‘funny’ posts…

it’s totally confusing and as someone who finds most of life bewildering - it’s just too much.

I love a joke - but all these texts / emails / news stories etc that aren’t true are just not funny - I don’t know what to believe or not. It is totally confusing

I appreciate that other people do find this all funny - but when you are autistic and literal - it’s just so bewildering as you don’t know what is true or not.

the posts live on and it’s so hard to know what is real or not.

So much of the world makes so little sense already to me and without a clear indication that these are ‘jokes’ it just is utterly confusing.

I wish I understood as a nT person but I don’t and it just is so upsetting not knowing more than ever what is ‘real’ or not..
