Have just got to our caravan holiday today. First thing I did was cover all the bedroom windows in tin foil as I find it really difficult to sleep without black out blinds. Also DCs wake up at whatever time the sun comes up if it's light! It's something I saw online once and have always done it since. However my DM is with us and can't stop laughing, she thinks it makes it look 'dodgy'. Surely I'm not the only person to do this??

Do you leave the foil on all day, or just at night? The latter would be fine and the latter pretty odd!

I could buy the travel blinds but we're only away for 4 days so it's a bit of a waste of money when we only go in a caravan every few years.
We do take them off during the day,
It's just to stop the light coming in first thing in the morning so the DC don't wake up at the crack of dawn!

Be careful, we cracked a window like that because the foil gets so hot

Those travel blinds are absolutely useless OP. Carry on with that tinfoil, it can't be beaten!

Travel blinds are completely useless as all the light comes in at the edges, getting it dark is essential to avoid children waking at sunrise

I’ve never had light come in the edges of travel blinds. Sounds like you’re not putting them close enough to edge.

You’ve also not answered why a drug den would use tin foil on the windrows?

That and any sticky deposits left by the sellotape.

But having said that, I have no idea as it's not something I've ever come across 🤣

@Llistamista I seem to remember watching a film or reading something in the news about a house with lots of tinfoil being raided? Isn't it what they do when they are growing plants in the roof? By this point I think I'm probably imagining it but it's been a very long day of travelling so I could be thinking of anything?! Haha

@WhateverMate I've used blue tack and bought window cleaner with me to remove any marks! I obviously put way too much much thought in to it before I came!

Buy a silk eye mask from Amazon. Less than a tenner and blocks out all the light (I use one in my motorhome).
