Am I unreasonable to think this won't end well......

Any thoughts from those interested in the ME situation?

I agree, best start buying tinned goods and toilet rolls now...😰

ballsdeep · 01/04/2024 19:23

Who bombed it?

I agree, it’s worrying!

tomorrowisanotherdate · 01/04/2024 19:24

This is very common, it is happening all the time

What?
Airstrikes on Foreign Consulates?

Can you imagine the reaction if a British or US Embassy or Consulate was bombed?

I was thinking of starting this thread - and I bet it will get moved to another section, because out of sight, out of mind.

MistressoftheDarkSide · 01/04/2024 19:26

It was an Israeli Air strike.

Iran is pretty unhappy.

Oh bloody hell!

"Meanwhile, Iran’s foreign ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani said Tehran reserves the right to take reciprocal actions against the Israel attack.
Iran will decide on “the type of response and punishment against the aggressor”, Kanaani said."

When is Iran ever happy?

Lex345 · 01/04/2024 19:31

Has anyone else noticed a significant shift in western media reporting of the situation in ME? I think Israel may find themselves very much alone if they continue.

It is terribly sad that the less than 1% of the world population decides the 99% must suffer war and conflict.

SophiaElise · 01/04/2024 19:32

Israel is clearly goading Hezbollah and Iran. I don't think they'll bite.

Pottedpalm · 01/04/2024 19:32

You are unreasonable coming on AIBU with your news-bite. Or do people sit on here all day waiting to be enlightened?

MistressoftheDarkSide · 01/04/2024 19:32

I'm following the Guardian live feed too.

I think this one is definitely worth keeping an eye on.

Also Israel have nixed Al Jazeera news channel.

They've been producing some interesting stuff about US manipulation in the ME. There's a batshit Evangelical flavour to some of those who have ears of those in power.

Have a feeling things are going to get a bit hinky moving forward....

Iran are invariably unhappy and always threaten retaliation but rarely actually do very much,

I expect this will be another 'oh no, that was pretty bad' one, but nothing will really come of it.

MistressoftheDarkSide · 01/04/2024 19:34

Could be a storm in a tea cup....

Certainly hope so.

The killing of humanitarian aid workers is a new low.
