my DD is 1 and will not have her teeth brushed no matter what I do or try, I’ve tired different brushes, pastes, making it a game and also tried to hold her down which just increased her fear. anyway her teeth are very oddly shaped, like deformed looking. it plays on my mind and I worry about them a lot but this morning woke up and googled it.. they look like Hutchinsons teeth but what terrifies me is the cause, it says it’s caused from syphilis, DP was my first and I had an STD test 2 months prior to falling pregnant with my daughter which came back negative ( test was due to abortion but fell pregnant very soon after with her, such a blessing ) but now I feel really sick and can’t rationally think. I have health anxiety. is there any other cause for teeth like this - PHOTO ATTACHED

I would go to the dentist, it could be hypoplasia which is very common and if you're lucky may only affect baby teeth. My dd has it with adult teeth but even them there are so many options nowadays for implants etc.

Anyway, I suspect this is a teeth specific thing not a huge disastrous disease thing. See the dentist.

Yep definitely dentist, has she been already? Got to get them seen before 6 months round here to ensure an NHS place - apparently full NHS dentists aren’t allowed to decline to register those under 6 months?

Anyway I had hypoplasia as a kid, not sure if it looked like that as they were my molars. But as an adult my teeth are perfect, no fillings yet (although I had many fillings as a kid, those 2 molars were taken out in the end)

Good luck!

Thank you both! I finally have a dentist for her in a fortnights time after trying to get one since she turned 12 months ( she’s almost 18 months )
