Noise in bathroom !!

Recently moved in to a new build and all night I’ve been hearing a whirring noise from the bathroom. It sounds like the extractor fan but it’s switched off on the wall and if I press it on it turns on fine. What could this noise be?!

Sounds better than what I heard coming from our bathroom at 3:10am.

The eldest must have had a mad one last night.

Do you have a toothbrush/shaver socket? We find ours makes a noise with some types of chargers but not all 🤔

ThePearandTheDodo · 31/03/2024 06:36

Ours does this, I think it's just the wind getting in and spinning the fan.

Do you have an extractor over your hob? Might that have been left on?

If it is a new build house does it have 'whole house ventilation' with a unit in the loft?

You could try turning your electricity off for a couple of minutes and see if the noise stops. ( may be a bit of nuisance having to reset clocks etc.) Just to see if it is your house or the neighbours or wind.

Extractor fan. Check the manual and adjust it.

I had this: turned out it was my battery shaver left switched on, buried in a drawer. The sound appeared to be coming from the wall, we even got an electrician in and it took him a while to discover the cause 😬
