Had a headache for about 3 weeks, have put it down to a bad cold I had a few weeks ago that massively impacted my sinuses. Headache comes and goes but is mostly there and is behind my eyes/front of head.
Tonight I'm feeling some numbness and tingling starting at my forehead and going down to my chin. My ear on that side feels like it's burning. It's not completely numb but almost like a numb/pins and needles type feeling.

Don't dare google as I think I'll freak myself out more. I will also mention that I have had migraines in the past but normally I get aura and a bad headache nothing else and it doesn't feel like that.

Have you tried migraine medication?

moneyisthecauseofmisery · 30/03/2024 20:49

@Hankunamatata I've tried it on and off the past couple of weeks but it's made no difference. This really doesn't feel like my normal migraines though.

111 now

Notimeforaname · 30/03/2024 20:50

I get pain and numbness like this in my face when I have a bad sinus infection.

Wendy83 · 30/03/2024 20:50

Have you checked your blood pressure?

MrsLeonFarrell · 30/03/2024 20:50

I sometimes have numbness with migraine but it only lasts 15 minutes in each place it happens. If this is lasting a long time I'd ring 111 for advice. It is probably a blocked sinus but always worth checking.

Toooldtoworry · 30/03/2024 20:51

Please call 111 and get checked

ThreePointOneFourOneFiveNine · 30/03/2024 20:51

I've had headaches that last weeks, but not the numb face thing. I think you should phone 111 and get some proper medical advice.

moneyisthecauseofmisery · 30/03/2024 20:52

Thanks all. I've had a sinus infection before and the pain was unbearable in my face. This is more of a pins and needles/numbness. I feel like my eye and ear are getting really hot now which sounds weird but that's the only way I can describe it. The rest of that side of my face just feels really tingly and strange.

You should call 111 and see what they say

BruFord · 30/03/2024 20:56

I’m not medically trained, but it sounds like a cold that’s turned into a sinus infection. I developed one a few years ago and thought I had something really serious. My head was throbbing and the area where the infection was housed was so painful. I got DH to take me to A &E, it was so bad. I was embarrassed when they worked out what it was, but we don’t have 111 here in the US.

I’d recommend taking Sudafed to try and drain your sinuses, then get to your GP as soon as you can after Easter as you’ll probably need some antibiotics. Good luck, it’s miserable. 💐

NeurodivergentBurnout · 30/03/2024 20:57

Change in sensation could be caused by a few things but I agree it’s best to discuss with 111.

BruFord · 30/03/2024 20:58

Just saw that you’ve had them before. I was told that once you’ve had one sinus infection, you’re more prone to future ones.

moneyisthecauseofmisery · 30/03/2024 21:00

@BruFord sorry you've suffered with them too. It doesn't feel like my sinuses causing the tingles as it's not where they normally are. I've felt the pain of a sinus infection before and it didn't feel like this. The only reason I said I think it's a sinus issue is because I'm still waking up with really dry sinus even though I had the cold over 3 weeks ago. Once I'm up and about the dryness seems to go. Could still be from that though maybe

Otrivine. It's excellent for sinus issues.

mrsbyers · 30/03/2024 22:18

It does sound linked to sinus issues and I’ve had similar for a few weeks now

fashionqueen1183 · 30/03/2024 22:23

I’ve also had a weird head thing for about 3 weeks. Feels more of a pressure though. GP thought my sinuses were blocked as I have a blocked nose on one side which changes depending on how Im lying down etc
Ive also had my eyes checked incase it was that.

HanaJane · 30/03/2024 22:42

It's not normal to have a headache for that long, you should make an appointment with your GP (or call 111 seeing as it's Easter weekend), definitely sounds something that needs checking out. Could be an ear/sinus infection, also could be your eyes?? Have you had an eye test recently? Maybe you need glasses?

Sengi · 30/03/2024 23:18

Might be worth asking a pharmacist? Sinusitis is one of the conditions they can now prescribe for.

TheGoogleMum · 30/03/2024 23:20

Numbness and tingling sounds unusual, might be worth talking to GP.
I had headache behind eyes when I had covid but only a few days thankfully.
Also could mean you need an eye test possibly.
