Just had one of my local Labour councillors at the door campaigning for the local elections. I asked him what he thought a woman was, because why should i ask him titchy little questions about the new hospital and the PCC? He looked a bit thrown, to be fair (and managed to get the word vagina into his answer, which i bet he has never done on any other doorstepping campaign!). However, he went with the "adult human female" definition, and "someone is possession of 2 X chromosomes".
We spent a bit of time talking about public sector funding, the new grid roads and knife crime in the town, and i assured him that in the local election at least all three of us in our household would be voting Labour.
Maybe common sense is returning, from the bottom up.
