Stanstead meet and greet changed car reg

I booked meet and greet parking at Stanstead ages ago for the Easter weekend. We fly tomorrow morning. I've just had a "uh oh" moment in that we recently changed our car and the booking is with the old number plate.

I've tried calling but they're closed and also closed on bank holiday. I've tried logging in to change it but it won't let me log on and also says changes need to be made within 24 hours.

Does anyone know if I turn up can I just say my reg has changed or will I be fined? Just thought I'd post on the off chance it's happened to someone else. Don't know whether to just get a taxi or rebook parking again.

I haven’t had experience of this, so I can’t be of much help (sorry!) but if you’re on social media, perhaps you could tweet Stansted to ask them. Companies tend to reply quite quickly on social media and are very helpful (in my limited experience!) Good luck.

Hi, that's a great idea I hadn't thought of that. I've now messaged them on Facebook and twitter / X. The only problem is both pages state they're monitored Monday - Friday 8am - 8pm which is same as the phones and the phones say not bank holidays. So I've got a feeling because it's Good Friday I won't hear back.

Just turn up and explain the situation. I did the same at Heathrow last week and it was fine. You just need to make sure you have your booking reference.

I've had this before at Manchester - was too late to change the reg and was advised to just turn up. I did and was no issue!

I’d just turn up. If you have a booking reference can confirm it’s you then I don’t think they can deny you entry.

Ok perfect that's really reassuring. I will just turn up. I just know what they're like trying to sting you for more money at every opportunity!

It is entry by auto reading I think but I think you can press the button and speak to a little man and then show the paperwork when you drop the keys in. Print off your booking confirmation

I once managed to book the wrong day and time for this at Stansted (website went back to default settings after I made a small change and I stupidly didn’t notice). I didn’t realise until we got there and was horrified! They were absolutely lovely about it and told me not to worry. Hopefully it will be the same for you; although it does mean the automatic barrier won’t recognise your number plate, so you will need to speak to someone as soon as you get there.

Thank you to Acapulco for the twitter suggestion. They replied this morning and have updated my booking to the correct number plate!! Phew - panic over!
