For children? Adults? The whole of the north west? If you give us some more info we can give you better advice!

Its a bit of a trek, (I am northwest too) but this is well worth the journey and if weather allows loads of picnic spots along the way

@Lex345 this looks soo good but it's about a 3 hour drive for me each way so may be something we'd have to tie in for an overnight stay. Thank you!

@JessicaPeach I was thinking this, what kind of age range do you think it's best for?

I took my kids to the one in Norfolk when they were sort of 3 and 6 and it was absolutely magical. I don’t know about the one here (because they are all grown up now!) but I’d say you’d be safe under 10 for sure

Most National Trust properties do Easter trails and so on. So in Cheshire I suppose Lyme Park, Tatton, Quarry Bank,Dunham Massey, Speke

Beeston Castle and walk on Bickerton hills
Leftfield - Stockport - Hat Museum, underground shelters tour, Staircase House and Bramhall Hall...

Mine are much older now but our favourite days out when they were little included: Crocky Trail; Tatton Park; Southport Beach; St Anne's beach; Crosby Beach (Anthony Gormley statues are a must see); Manchester Museum; Manchester Science & Industry Museum; Imperial War Museum North - Salford Quays in general is fun; Liverpool World Museum; Eureka in Halifax. Enjoy - I miss those days!

My eldest is nearly 10 and still really loves a good run round there, could see him still enjoying it for another couple of years

National Museums Liverpool are closed due to strike action so that takes out the World Museum and the museum of Liverpool which are both great - for future visits.

I’d head to Blue Planet - great shark tunnel. Then there’s the outlet centre nearby which has a kids play area.

@Maray1967 - are the Liverpool museums closed over Easter? My DS really wants to go to the Maritime Museum.

To the OP I would suggest:
Speke Hall and gardens
New Brighton
West Kirby (needs to be a nice day)
Tatton Park
Delamere Forest
