Please tell me some success stories, especially where female partner is older than male

OP posts:

Significantly older or does anything count? I'm five years older. 42 / 47. This is the best and most rewarding relationship I've had including with exh.
We get married next year.

nothingcomestonothing · 28/03/2024 20:11

My DB is 17 years younger than his wife, they are very happy. Curious why you want to know though OP - what's your skin in the game?

PassingStranger · 28/03/2024 20:11

Not this again.
It has nothing to do with age. Plenty of people the same age split up don't they so there's your answer.

It's how you get on, feel about each other etc.

GreatGateauxsby · 28/03/2024 20:14

Not sure its significant enough?
My DH is 6/7 years younger

I was 33.5 he was "just" 27 when we met.
We married whe he was 30 he is now 34 im 40 with 2 kids.

We dont notice the gap except when we talk about kids tv shows 🤷🏻‍♀️

ghostyslovesheets · 28/03/2024 20:15

There are 18 years between my mum and my step dad - he's 60 and she's 78 - they have been together for over 25 years - a lot longer than she even knew my dad. It's not always been easy - but my mums not easy! He's a lovely grandad to my kids - but it is odd that he's 7 years older than me and the same age as my kids dad.

But it's been a successful marriage over all.

momtoboys · 28/03/2024 20:18

Before I got married I was with a man 13 years older than me. We were together 11 years. It was a great relationship until it wasn't.

Katemax82 · 29/03/2024 08:37

My husband is 10 years older than me. Don't really notice it unless we're talking about stuff from childhood, or like last year when we were eligible to use SAGA insurance services as he's over 50. Looking back though it was a bit weird in the beginning as I was 17 when we got together, if my daughter got with a 27 year father of 2 at age 17 I would not be happy at all!

HarryBlackberry1 · 29/03/2024 08:57

I am 11 years older than my husband. Been together 10 years. I'd never planned to be with a younger man, but we're very happy.

B1anche · 29/03/2024 09:03

My partner is 13 years older than me. We've been together 15 years. I would say that as we have got older, the age gap feels more obvious.

Zingy123 · 29/03/2024 09:21

13 years between us. This year we've been together 28 years. No issues with age for us.

Ladyprehensile · 29/03/2024 09:27

I knew someone whose husband was 24 years older than her.

It was a mostly great relationship until she realised what a narc he was. She grew up and finally realised she’d been “eye candy” and then he needed a nurse.

it didn’t end well albeit she was with him most of her adult life.

He’s passed away now so she’s alone and happy that way.
