Husband not brushing his teeth in a morning.

Recently learned my DH (38) doesn’t brush his teeth in the mornings. Instead, he swills some mouthwash.

Occasionally he brushes his teeth after breakfast (not often) and always after lunch. I told him I find it a bit gross kissing him knowing he’s just used mouthwash to mask the morning breath and not bothered cleaning his teeth.

Otherwise he’s a very hygienic man. AIBU here?

To be clear: he always brushes his teeth before bed.

Does he have bad breath? Poor dental hygiene, tooth decay, gum disease?
If not then as long he brushes twice a day it's not that bad. Though I would always prefer brushing in the morning, as it wakes me up. Sometimes I forget at night though..
If he brushes thoroughly for several minutes with electric brush and flosses, brushes tongue then it probably isn't harmful per se. If you say you won't kiss him till he's brushed then he might change his tune?

He has quite stinky breath first thing, which is how I found out as I asked whether he’d brushed his teeth yet and then he shared that he never usually does. He always gets lots of plaque build
up to the extent I badger him to go see a dentist.
