To ask a 30 funded hours question?

I’ll be back at work in September 2025 - baby should be eligible for the 30 ‘funded’ hours from 9 months old.

We probably want to use 2 days a week, all year round. Childminder we have our name down with currently charges £45 a day.

What would our monthly costs look like with the free hours? She’s quite positive they’re going to be rolled out as planned but then again I’ve seen a post today saying if Labour get into power they won’t guarantee to continue the 30 free hours.

She can set her own rules about the hours will look. Some settings only take 5 hours a day funding and the rest of the day is paid for. Some will stretch it out over the year so you have approx 22 hours a week funding but can only take it set times like 9-12 or 1-4 etc.....

It will be up to the childminder how this is implemented in her setting as she needs to cover costs and earn a living and the funding goes nowhere near covering that.
