To suddenly feel this anxious?

I’m doing a long haul flight for the first time next week (USA) and I’m suddenly feeling incredibly anxious about it. This is by far the longest I’ve ever flown- I don’t usually fear flying (although I do get horrible motion sickness) - but this feels different, I’m anxious about being on such a long flight.

It’s not just the flying, the thought of the whole trip is stressing me out. I’m travelling with DH and he gets super stressy about everything, so it’s usually me that has to be the calm one. Except I’m not, now! There’s a lot of travelling to do while we’re there, too, and I suddenly feel too old to be coping with it all (I’m mid fifties).

I know I’m BU, I’m catastrophising and it’ll be fine, but can anyone recommend anything, or help me get a grip?

I don't get anxious flying but I do dread it. So what I do is I play out my flight. I want to listen to this podcast, read three chapters of my book, watch a movie etc.

Could you reframe your mind that you're excited for the trip instead of anxious?
