To just walk away

I’ve just put the baby in the cot and walked off. I’ve tried to comfort her and there’s just nothing I can do now. She’s tired but if she won’t sleep I can’t help. She’s 8 months so not like she’s a newborn.

YANBU - there is a limit. I resisted sleep training mine until I could take it no more.

Your baby will be fine

Absolutely ok to just walk away, as long as baby is safe. Give yourself a break and try again in a bit. Relentless crying is absolutely awful.

Yes if baby is safe in the cot, not needing anything I would just walk out of the room. She'll tire herself out eventually.

Have you checked temp and given calpol? Baby could be teething and feel really sore. Sleep training is important but if this behaviour isn't normal then baby is trying to tell you something.

Hungry? Thirsty?

Nothingicandonow · 27/03/2024 23:35

It’s normal unfortunately. She’s fine until you try to get her to go in the cot. Anyway OH got her out so now I’m stuck with her, fml
