Don't understand 30 free hours and universal credit - help

I'm confused, I'm on universal credit can I still apply for the 30 hours free childcare for my 3 year old?
I work full time

I've been trying to Google but I'm no clearer. Is it either uc or 30 free hours?

Yes you can, and still get UC support for the reduced childcare bill. I'm a cm and one if my parents does this.

@MsAsparagus thank you, that's where I've been looking and it's sending me round in circles asking me to log in and then not letting me apply. It's so unclear

@Whattobakeiwonder I honestly can't work out how to do this, it just doesn't seem to be giving me the option.

You will need to create an account on childcare choices to check your eligibility for the 30 hours. They will give you a code to give to your childcare provider if you are eligible. You will need to reconfirm that code from time to time, it will receive a email reminder when it’s due.
Im not 100% sure but to claim back from UC you’ll need to do that from your UC account.

I've worked out I was getting messages about tax free child care and free childcare at the same time so was given conflicting emails. I think I've sorted it

I have absolutely no clue how these things work but-do you have a friend who does? Also, I think your childcare provider probably does know. Can you ask for an appointment for a chat? They might be able to untangle it for you.
