To cringe at the word cringe

The adjective is cringey. It is not cringe, it is cringey.

I cringe. He cringed. It is not cringe: it is cringey.

Language changes all the time, I know… but I find the use of the word cringe… well, cringey.

I suppose we could also ask when cringeworthy became cringey.
