Your thoughts on DKNY bags

I’m utterly clueless on brands and bags, obviously I know Chanel and LV are designer brands and luxury but I would never spend that much on a bag. I’m in my 30’s and just wondering if DKNY is considered cheap or chavvy as some say! What’s your thoughts? I’ve seen a really lovely one for £175

I’m not saying I think DKNY is cheap or chavvy, I’m wondering what others think of it? I had a MK bag before and a younger niece in late teens told me it’s a bag people have that want designer but are poor! I have no idea as I said

Surely if you like it and you can afford it that's all that matters?
I can't imagine caring what others think about my bag but maybe I'm out of touch

@Itloggedmeoutagain but I do want to know what people think that’s why I’m posting here if I didn’t care I wouldn’t be posting asking for opinions. That’s the beauty of online forums - you can get others opinions rather than asking people in RL who will tell you what they think you want to hear.

I think If you love it buy it.

but DKNY is in the Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren bucket for me….

If only there were a dedicated board, for those interested in matters relating to style and beauty. Mumsnet HQ could call it, err, Style and Beauty. We could chatter away with like-minded individuals and not worry whether we were being unreasonable or not.
Ah, we can but dream, I suppose.

Got to be honest if i see a designer bag i assume it's fake.
But again that's probably just me as i can't imagine spending that amount on a bag.

That’s very silly then because lots of people buy authentic.

I think DKNY and MK are similar. To me, too teenage annd here a bit chavvy common. and I wouldn’t carry either . I’d go for a Marc Jacobs / coach / Kate Spade or something instead at that price point.

I feel exactly the same.

aperolspritzbasicbitch · 25/03/2024 14:09

I wouldn't spend that much on a dkny bag I'm afraid.

I'm in the mind that a bag is a bag, and unless it's really high end designer (which I would see as an investment) a £200 bag isn't going to offer anything a £50 bag can't.

Meow! Be authentic to yourself. Buy a bag you like.

strawberry2017 · 25/03/2024 14:10

Depends on the style. I like ones that are more subtle but not a fan of the ones where the name is plastered all over it. I think some DKNY bags are lovely.
If the names all over it I think they look cheap. That's just personal opinion though.

We were asked for opinions
