To ask if kitchen companies get a cut from pushing Miele?

Ok I know this is a niche question and not really an Aibu but I am having my kitchen done and the various companies I have had quotes and plans from have all heavily pushed Miele, and their buy 5 appliances get 1 more free. Is this just because Miele is the best? Or are they all getting a commission? Thanks if you know anything about kitchens, washing machines, ovens and dishwashers. I know nothing!

Different companies will have preferred suppliers they work with and there will be incentives yes

Hmm. It’s the incentives I’m suspicious of. I keep being told if we order 5 appliances the 6th is free but that’s direct from Miele which is more expensive than ordering from elsewhere. I might just ask them directly.

Well I would always push Miele on the basis they are the best appliances we have. But a kitchen company almost certainly gets an incentive. And buying multiple Miele things at one time will be lots of cash!

Kitchen companies will have deals with certain brands, definitely, and I'm sure they will get commission or discounts or whatever from certain brands. Not always Miele, though. Maybe you just coincidentally ended up getting quotes from all the Miele ones?!

The place we used was very keen for us to have Neff appliances (which, to be fair, we've been delighted with, so I can't complain).

Are you a kitchen designer?

Cannot fault Miele products. Always come top in Which? tests. If you can afford them buy them. Get a John Lewis cc and store card you get points back which convert into money off vouchers. Also their customer service is excellent.

I work for a kitchen company, we get no commission, we recommend hotpoint but if you want nef or Miele you can. Makes no difference to us but it is an independent company
