Why are pizza shops not putting cheese on pizzas?

In the olden days, when you ordered a pizza, it had cheese on top. Now I have to order extra cheese to get an actual 'pizza'. Why, given the (surely) amazing mark up, are we having to pay more for cheese, to make it an actual pizza?

I know - I don't have to order pizza... just the meanest with the cheese... weird. AIBU or is this getting to be a bit of a situation?

I've never had to order cheese on pizza, it comes as standard. Maybe start ordering from somewhere else

Do you mean they are being a bit tight with the cheese? So you can see all the sauce?

Look up “shrinkflation”. Cheese is expensive and it’s an easy way to to cut back
