Getting to Bognor Regis during rail strike

Hi everyone

Just learnt that over Easter there will be rail strikes on one of the days that I planned to get the train to Bognor Regis from London

Does anyone know what the closest underground station to Bognor Regis is? What is the cheapest way to get there from South London if I can't use the rail?

Check whether or not some of the trains are running. South Western Railways go to Portsmouth and buses may get you to Bognor Regis from there, if Southern are not.

It’s nowhere near any underground station - it’s probably 60 miles from the closest one.

You could look and see whether there are any National Express coaches from London

Hi

I am just checking the coaches but don't think any national express are running then

I think a coach is the option, unless south west trains are running and you can get to Portsmouth. There is a bus from Portsmouth to Bognor- it’s Stagecoach 700.

When are you travelling? The only complete service strike on Southern is on 8th and overtime ban from 5th which usually affects late and early services. Check Southwestern if that affects you as you could get to Portsmouth if that is running and take a bus.

South Western will get one as far as Havant I think if you come down via Petersfield. Then the 700 bus will (slowly) get you to Bognor, probably changing at Chichester

Or, get a a National Express to Brighton and then the 700 in the opposite direction
