To tell people there is a Royal Family topic on Mumsnet?

There are already half a dozen threads (with plenty of traffic) speaking about the announcement from Catherine, Princess of Wales, which took place at 18:00 this evening.

If you want to feel special, or angry, or whatever self serving reason you have to post a new thread about this.. then can I suggest you go here?

Repeat after me: AIBU is not Mumsnet. It is a sub-forum, not the whole forum.

Wishing the Princess of Wales a swift recovery free from scrutiny.

Agree!

By half a dozen threads, I mean those already in the Royal Family forum.

Do we really need a flood of them here?

Also it's very grim the way everyone is falling over themselves to be the bearer of bad news to be the OP, embarrassing even

betterangels · 22/03/2024 18:21

Yes! Some of us hide that topic on purpose.

YADNBU

pickledandpuzzled · 22/03/2024 18:23

hard agree

My active thread has Kate every other line.

I’m sad for her and wish her well. I don’t need to make a banner or post multiple threads about it.

charliefair · 22/03/2024 18:23

Quite.

It's been a fucking scramble in here this afternoon to see who can post the quickest. Sick fuckers the lot of them

It’s really weird. Posting hurriedly with abbreviations, no substance to the post…no forum question to the populace

… nope, they just want to be “first” on the most popular section of Mumsnet, and hopefully accrue a few posts

Our world is very strange .

Best everyone leaves her be now.🙄

YANBU

I feel a mixture of embarrassment and complete disdain for anyone so desperate to have 'their own' thread about it.

Pick another subject if you need attention.

Liverpool52 · 22/03/2024 18:26

I was confused as to why there were suddenly so many posts about Prisoners of War. Assumed something had happened in Gaza.

shoppingshamed · 22/03/2024 18:26

I'm pretty sure I saw a thread in site stuff asking for all Kate threads to be moved to the correct topic but the answer was nom I wonder if that decision is being revisited now

HotChocWine · 22/03/2024 18:26

How many threads?

AutumnCrow · 22/03/2024 18:27

There are threads now on AIBU, Chat, News, and The Royal Family. And Site Stuff!

yourlobster · 22/03/2024 18:34

I counted 17 threads before I got bored in active. WTF is wrong with people.
