Any GPs? Medical professionals? Re. Strep Throat

Basically this started for me Monday morning. I have been dieing all week. And we are on holiday 😭 So just disastrous all round!

No one would see me as a temp patient. Was far to ill to wait in a walk in - well I couldn’t get to one anyway as neck was too stiff to drive. It’s been a struggle but I finally found the nhs pharmacist scheme who got me on penicillin this morning. 🙏

Apparently I should be out the woods by Saturday morning leaving one day of the holidays left to enjoy as a family 😭

Problem is dp is now saying he feels feverish, his throat is sore and his glands up. Im now worried about my 1 yo as well. He was being fussy this evening.

Obviously dp can just go to the pharmacy. But what about children? I’m assuming he would need to be seen by someone.

Any ideas? Family trip to a walk in? Do they do preventative meds for strep in toddlers?

This is so nasty. I have never been so ill. So I’m super keen to nip this in the bud asap for rest of the family.

Thanks for any advice 🙏

Where are you on holiday? If UK call 111. I can only suggest pharmacy if you are elsewhere.

I don't think your child would be given antibiotics when not actually unwell. I'd fet the husband to sort himself same way you did and keep an eye on your child

Thanks both, am just conscious it’s Friday tomorrow and it seems we can only be ill on weekdays in this country 😭

not true really, 111 will direct you to help 24/7

Many pharmacies are open 7 days a week.
I don't think either pharmacies or GPs would give antibiotics preventatively though
