Need help to choose new car fast!

Don't think there is a car section so posting here.

Our car has been written off. Insurers have now offered a settlement figure. The courtesy car is only on loan until 7 days after we receive the cash. So I need to find a car quickly!

I'm looking for ideas for suitable models. It needs to meet the following

  • big enough for 2 adults and 2 tall teens
  • decent boot size
  • electric or hybrid
  • not an estate
  • ideally under 60,000 miles
  • up to about £14k

Any thoughts as to what to look at? I keep coming back to the Kia Niro - but don't know about other options. I did look at a Vauxhall Mokka-e but rear cabin looks tight

Thanks

There was a thread the other day and the Mokka was pretty much rubbished.
Skoda Octavia?
Mazda MX30?

Thanks interesting about the Mokka. I wasn't convinced when I saw it.

I'll check out the Mazda. Thanks

Suzuki Vitara, Nissan Qashqai (sp?)

Think the Vitara boot might be a bit small. The Nissan might be an option.

They’re ugly but we have a Kia Soul and I cannot believe how spacious it is. My 6’4” dad sits comfortably in the back and the boot is huge!

What's it like to drive?

At the moment I'm deciding between Kia Niro, BMW Active Tourer 2 series and MG MZ. Test drives booked for tomorrow.

Honest John is a fabulous website to review all cars new and older.

I have a Renault Captur. I have the petrol but I'm sure they do a hybrid. I'd def get one again.

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 22/03/2024 16:31

I’d go for a Kia sportage.
