Would you return a bag over these indents?

Hi I purchased a handbag a few days ago. When I purchased it I saw it in the shop but as I had already tried it on and looked at it in close detail a few months prior I was happy enough to just get it boxed and paid for. It was a bag I've admired for over a year.
When I went home I put it away safely still in its box and bag and was busy with work/kids so only opened it up last night.
I'm not sure if anyone can see these indents in the photo I took but I'm wondering would you be happy or would you return? Am I being picky here?

wouldn't bother me. surely the point of a bag is it gets used and will develop a few marks anyway? also, they are on the bottom.

Lanawashington · 19/03/2024 12:07

Wouldn't bother me as it's on the bottom and unlikely to be seen, but I guess it depends how much you spent on it. If it's expensive I would expect it to be perfect

£30 bag? No. £100+ then I would return!

Pinkdelight3 · 19/03/2024 12:09

Hard to imagine anyone caring about what's on the bottom of a handbag, but I guess it all comes down to how much it cost and if you're wanting to re-sell it down the line for £££ then someone at that point might have a problem with it. If it's bothering you, there's no harm in returning it and getting one without the indents. Weird that you saw them before though and still bought it, but maybe I've misunderstood that bit about having 'tried it on' and admiring it for year. Clearly it's a big deal to you, so better to get it sorted.

I tried and saw the bag in the store but when I went to purchase the sales assistant went to get a fresh one. I had already mentioned to her that I was happy with the style and size so when she got the fresh one she just showed it to me briefly more so just to double check it was the correct bag.

Looks like Gucci so £££.

Yes it would bother me but I accept the bag will get marks from being used so I tolerate some to a degree.
I had to return one designer bag because there were massive creases and I couldn’t accept that.

OhItsOnlyCynthia · 19/03/2024 12:17

It's going to get pushed and pulled in all directions when you start using it. It wouldn't bother me.

GodspeedJune · 19/03/2024 12:24

If it’s not far out of your way, perhaps pop back to the shop to swap it for a different one?

Ducksinthebath · 19/03/2024 12:35

If that's the only issue, then no I wouldn't bother returning it. You might feel different if you spent a lot though.

YesThatsATurdOnTheRug · 19/03/2024 12:37

If it bothers you then exchange it, you've wanted it for a year and clearly it's a lot of money. Doesn't matter if it would bother anyone else, you're allowed to decide it bothers you.
