To feel so exhausted of nursery illnesses

DC is 2yo and has been constantly sick every month with some or the other bugs this whole winter usually caught from nursery. I have had to take lots of time off work and Also I am currently pregnant and quite tired.
I feel very sad to see him struggling with illness constantly.
We are constantly in and out of GP, walkin centre etc. I feel like I am failing as a parent as to why my DC keeps falling sick.
Spoke to a paediatrician and they said that's normal for young children and that's how they build immunity.
We don't have much family support and manage things between me and DH. Today, I am feeling quite lonely and low with DC's constant illness.
If you have young DC, has this winter been worse in terms of illnesses?

My DS is 20 months old and it feels like every time he starts to get better, something else makes him ill again. He's had cold after cold after cold. And then on top you catch whatever they have as well and you're ill trying to care for them. It's rough going at times. My DS ended up in hospital on one occasion and one of the doctors did say its normal for a kid to be ill about 10-12 times in their first year at nursery.

Yes, post-Christmas, my 2yo DD has seemingly picked up every bug that nursery has to offer. This has been her second winter in nursery and I was hoping it would be a bit better than last year - so far we’ve had fewer bugs in total so I’m hoping next winter will be better again(!). However, I’m also consoling myself with the thought that it is definitely helping her immunity.
