**TW** To think Instagram should be doing something about this?

A video of a woman breast feeding her child popped up on my Instagram explore page, I clicked on it, not thinking much of it. I was stunned to see the comment section was filled with comments from perverted men. I clicked on the profile to find hundreds of videos of mothers breast feeding. There was nothing educational about the content of these videos, it was women in lingerie suggestively posed whilst feeding their infants with links to OnlyFans accounts. There was even videos of a woman BF a reborn doll whilst ‘jiggling’ herself. The intended audience for these videos is men, there is no two ways about it.

This whole thing has left me genuinely speechless and sick to my stomach. I cannot even bring myself to repeat some of the comments I read. These children are being exploited in broad daylight. Clearly, their mothers cannot be entrusted to protect their own children, so why aren’t Instagram doing anything about it?

YANBU.

And at the same time there 100% needs to be a right for women to be allowed to share photos and/or videos of that show them breastfeeding (or else we'll all have to start going to the loo to breastfeed again - or having sheets and towels thrown over us... which was actually done to me once, but I digress...)

The men commenting are BU.

I can only hope the press pick up on this issue and shame Instagram into banning the people leaving sexual comments about images that include babies and Only Fans into shutting down accounts that upload videos with babies in them.

Has someone else been using your phone op? Instagram only really shows you stuff related to other things you've looked at or showed interest in.

YANBU there was a NYT article last month about Mum run accounts of girls and how these account are used by paedophiles, some of whom have managed to use the platform to make sick requests. Worse thing I’ve read in a long time.

They need to be doing far more to stop this and it’s not just the children. They know the moderators are ending up with PTSD

Not correct. If you go through reels it can show you anything. Not just people or pages you follow.

That's disgusting and sounds like another revolting fetish. Women can post what they want but WHY would they want to post videos of themselves BF on social media at all? Especially if they knew outcome, this clarifies they're doing it for the men, the likes and comments. Poor babies.

YABU expecting a site like IG to care about this.

Tech companies could do a whole lot to protect children but they won't.

Pedos moved online instead of lurking in the bushes. Nothing can be done about brain damaged individuals. Prison stats say it all over 100 male prisons 12 female prisons in the uk. I prefer not to think about How many should be in prison and aren’t. Seeing comments on insta is like looking into what they think and the comments do not indicate things will get better- more pervs on the loose in the future.
