Laid up and grumpy in living room on lovely spring day. Streaming eyes and nose.
I have the remote to myself, but CBA to death scroll for something to watch.
Have Netflix and Prime, as well as usual smart TV channels.
AIBU to ask for your feel good and get better soon viewing suggestions?
If I'm not BU, please share.
TIA

Death in Paradise available on iPlayer. I watched it from the start when I was ill and couldn't remember any of the plots so even if you've seen it it's worth watching again. I also watched Friends (I think it's on Amazon prime) when I had Covid. Light and funny (and short episodes so good for low attention span) Get well soon!

What sort of things do you fancy?

Tired, head too full of cold to be able to face anything demanding, just need distraction, won't much matter if you nod off in the middle: Death in Paradise, Beyond Paradise, Call the Midwife?

If you have a bit more capacity, you could try The Traitors.

If you are feeling strong and want something compulsive and really good to binge (also quite violent) - Kin, series 1 and 2.

All the above are on BBC iplayer.

I don't know if it's currently available on any streaming service, but the best crime series ever (in my view) is The Bridge (Swedish/Danish original version). I'd love to watch that all again from the start.

The Gentlemen on Netflix is a hoot.

GoodVibesHere · 16/03/2024 12:36

Virgin River on Netflix

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 16/03/2024 12:36

(Kin and The Bridge are not feelgood, it has to be said. But great.)

We've just started watching Dry on ITVx. It's good so far. It's a comedy, but I suspect it will get quite dark.

WheresFluffy · 16/03/2024 12:40

Thanks for posts.
I don't really know what I do want to watch!
Not helpful.
Something I can have a wee nap through, but not missing important plot twists.
Oh, and something I can watch while scrolling here, obvs!

There is a film called The Whistleblower on Prime, it is however a very upsetting film based on a true story, Rachel Weiss has the lead role. It is a very powerful film. I find when I’m ill I veer between really miserable stuff and then daft stuff. If you want daft stuff watch Bride Wars on prime as well I think. If you want the least taxing film ever watch Irish Wish on Netflix it’s kind of so shit it’s good and not in the least bit demanding romantic rom com with Lindsay Lohan. DH and I had dreadful weeks and needed something that required zero brain power last night in my defence. Or try Love is Blind season 1 on Netflix or Below Deck again on Netflix.

I assumed we were the last people to watch Ted Lasso, but if you never caught it, it fits the bill imo.

jeaux90 · 16/03/2024 12:46

Ted Lasso, The Gentleman. The Ozarks.

PuppyMonkey · 16/03/2024 12:48

Ted Lasso isn’t on Netflix or Prime though, it’s on Apple TV.

Allfur · 16/03/2024 12:49

Feel good warm stuff, ted lasso, this is us - riveting dark stuff, american nightmare, don't fuck with cats - entertaining gripping drama, white lotus, succession

Picklestop · 16/03/2024 12:54

I am in the middle of Gentlemen, loving it.

Night Agent is good, hoping for a second series. Manifest is quite watchable, although they only have series 1 and 4 up for some reason.

My favourite recent light viewing has been Baby Ballroom.

Lovelyview · 16/03/2024 15:28

Simon Reeve's travel series', any David Attenborough/BBC wildlife stuff, During another illness I watched a lot of the Repair Shop.

WheresFluffy · 16/03/2024 15:38

I've settled on After the Flood on channel 5.

Wait and see how it goes.
Thanks all

I've recently been purging My5 or whatever it's called.

Too good to be true. With someone from EastEnders and Branson from Downtown. Very predictable in general but still riveting.

Madame Blanc Mysteries. Although there's only series 1 & 2 available sat the mo. Series 3 disappeared while I was half way through!

Apple TV subscription is also well worth it for just one month to binge watch Ted Lasso. Wonderful wonderful programme. Probably my favourite of all time.
