Stopped smoking and now terrible insomnia

I wasa heavy smoker and stopped 3 weeks ago (am vaping).
I'm experiencing horrendous insomnia where I literally don't sleep an hour in the whole night. Its really impacting my work, it's hell. Never had sleep trouble before so can only assuming it's stopping sm9king? Is this a thing? What do I do? :-(

Yes. I had this when I quit vaping and used patches, and also when I gave up drinking.

It was frustrating but I just stuck with it. There was one night since January where I was so tired, I ended up with a bottle of wine to make sure I could get to sleep, but I had a night of broken sleep so I had to remind myself to stick at it.

I had about 1 month of terrible sleep - 4/5 hours per night but it has now increased to an average of 7 hours which is great.

Its difficult, but it does get better.

Thanks so much for sharing your experience, I'm just really surprised this is happening while I'm vaping, it's not like I'm having nicotine withdrawal issues?

It could be all the other chemicals in cigs, there's not only nicotine in them.
