Anyone awake? Struggling with horrible bug

Can't sleep, I've had a horrible bug since Friday. I originally thought it was sinusitis as it started with pain in my sinuses but I'm not congested so I don't think it can be that. My mouth and throat hurt so much especially when swallowing, I've also got a cough. Had a fever since Friday. Struggling to sleep because the pain is so bad, and paracetamol making no difference. No white spots on my tonsils though so guessing it's not tonsillitis either.
Also now worrying about getting in to work again in the morning because every time I've got up to go to the toilet tonight I've felt so dizzy I'm struggling to stand up. Got to get the DC to school as well as there is a trip today.
Anyone else had this horrid bug lately?

Yes exactly same timelines as you, sinus is awful teeth and face killing me my throat was bad but it's eased off more like glads, neck mouth and teeth but I've now tested positive for covid. I always get the insomnia with covid.

@Jenpeg sorry to hear you're suffering too! I did test a couple of days ago and it was negative but might be worth re testing again. I keep hoping I'll go to bed and feel better in the morning but each day I'm waking up feeling worse

Omg yes!! My throat is agony and I've tested +very for Covid but my throat is so sore, I also got thrush in my mouth which didn't help! I've had a temp for a week.

I also tested+v for the flu at the same time it's been a week now and my throat is finally starting

I've just had one similar to that.

It started with a really dry mouth and feeling so thirsty even after loads of water. Then ended up with a full blown cold, felt really fluey, had a cough, and an awful headache.

The good news is it passed quite quickly. So fingers crossed for you.

Sounds like you might need tomorrow off though.

Yeah same been getting worse since Friday, hopefully today is the turn for me 😕 wish I could sleep though.

Yep, me too. It started on Friday, I spent the whole weekend in bed hoping to shake it off. But no, I still feel rubbish, can't sleep, and counting down the hours til I have to drag my sorry ass to work.

Hi, I've got this bug too currently, it's awful! Mine started with a blocked nose and dry mouth, now my throat is absolutely killing, my bones are aching, my skin is sore, I have a headache and a phlegmy cough. Also suffering with extreme nausea and have been sick, think due to the phlegm, but unsure if that is pregnant related.

I can't take much as I'm pregnant, has anyone found anything that helps? Ive taken a paracetamol and had a soother but no help.

I’ve got a lurgy but whether it’s the same one I don’t know. Several days of splitting headache then woke up on Monday to streaming cold. I’ve spent the last two days in bed. Thankfully had several lemons left over from Shrove Tuesday so have been on the hot honey and lemon. Can’t even read for long as my eyes are aching too. Sympathy to fellow sufferers

I have this since last week Monday. I take ibuprofen and paracetamol together as paracetamol alone doesn’t touch the pain. It got a little better for a couple of days where I lost my voice and then came back with full force. Burst an eardrum yesterday so let’s see where it ends

Sorry to everyone else suffering too! Let's hope we all get over it soon! I managed to get an hours sleep and have woken up feeling less dizzy thankfully. My throat is still sore but feels slightly better than it did at 3am, although I'm now starting to lose my voice. Unfortunately I work in a school so these types of bugs are non stop as everything just spreads like wildfire

My DS is the same just now. He’s feeling absolutely rotten, another bug brought home from nursery.

Hope all who’s suffering with it too recovers soon too.

I know people always say it but this is 100% going around. I'm just getting over it but it's taken 3 weeks and it's super contagious as everyone in the house has/had it which never happens. It was so bad I was certain it was Covid but we did many tests and all negative.

I was feeling really nauseous as well. I'm not pregnant but I get a lot of nausea generally so I wasn't sure if it was just me either.

Is anyone feeling any better yet? Can't sleep due to coughing and sore throat, wondering how much longer this will last!

I thought I was getting better yesterday and went out briefly. Came home, fell asleep and woke up feeling lousy again. One step forward, three back. The coughing, crackling chest, sandpaper nose, tinnitus and headache, will it ever end?

@TesticularHeft this is what happened in our house. I was the most unwell. by far but vomited a lot and got very dehydrated as couldn’t even keep water down.

I resorted to using a neti pot to clear sinus, I mean I hate it but it did help. I have been unwell for three weeks now.
