Found a nice one to buy. Dh has to read the reviews which aren't great for reliability.

Has your Sharan been very unreliable, or expensive to keep on the road? He's happy to be persuaded by random, unrepresentative MNet experiences.

YANBU - it's ok

Age dependent for one thing - older ones were a platform share (so basically the same car) with Ford(Galaxy) and Seat(Alhambra) - our Ford Galaxy (with VW v6 petrol engine) was fairly reliable except for the engine management warning light being on all the time - a fault which various garages could never cure).

Had mine for 2 years and I love it. It's a 2016 plate and the only lights that have come on are for the DPF - going down a junction on the motorway solves that.

Thank you! I've had that engine management light issue on my current Honda. Such a pain!

Any other experiences much appreciated.
