To End The Contract?

I rent a small room as I need the extra income. The person was not able to pay monthly, so, I agreed to weekly, then the person changed to fortnightly but does not keep to the arrangements, keep changing all the times.

I agreed to fortnightly every Monday, it would take the person till Thursday/Friday to make the payment, having asked for it several times. So, I asked this morning if the money would be transferred today, to which I am told, on Friday and then monthly from April. This means that the person is paying 3 weeks and not 4 for March. It's a game and I am getting stressed.

Am I unreasonable to ask the person to leave?

They're a lodger and have very few rights, so absolutely end the contract if they're unreliable paying their rent.

YOU own the house so YOU state when the rent is paid. Not them.

I'd sit down with them and ask what the issue is with paying rent, then perhaps if you feel their reason is plausible, ask them to set up a monthly direct debit - perhaps after they have been paid. (assuming they're a nice person and you like them as a lodger other than their money issues).
