What the hell happened to my back? (Picture included)

I know I need to go to the chemist tomorrow, but just wondering if anyone has had experience of rashes? I've never had an allergic reaction to anything in my life. This has developed on my back over the last day or so. The only thing different is I started using Moulton Brown fiery chilli shower gel this week. I've used it before and never had a problem. I changed my shampoo to one I've used occasionally before without a problem. Also started using a Bayliss & Harding body wash this week. Does this look like a burn from shower gel? It's not sore (at the moment) nor does it itch. If it's from body wash how come it's just this bit of my body that's affected? It's very odd & I'm concerned.

Wow!! Looks very dry. Must be allergic reaction to one f those products you would think…

Bloom15 · 10/03/2024 23:57

It looks dry and like fake tan that has half worn off

Caerulea · 10/03/2024 23:58

It looks like the top of your back? Is it where your hair sits? Could it be a combos of new shower gel & new shampoo not being fully rinsed?

I get reactions to a particular chemical in hair & shower stuff but it comes up as itchy welts/lumps, nothing like that. It looks so dry!

You can become allergic to anything at any time. Not sure of your age but women are more likely to develop allergies during perimenopause.

Have you maybe not washed the soap off properly? My hands go the same way if I don’t rinse thoroughly.

Burntmyback · 11/03/2024 00:04

Yes I've rinsed off properly & to be honest I don't really put a lot of body wash there

I would think most likely a reaction to something you've used, although odd it's only in one place! Def ask a pharmacist for advice, and stop using all the products - switch to something non fragrances for a few days and see if it clears up?

Caerulea · 11/03/2024 00:10

So not residue then. Could you have rubbed your neck/back with a cleaning product of some sort after your shower?

candycane222 · 11/03/2024 00:12

Could there have been something on your towel?
