Am I on my own? I asked him to look after the baby for half an hour (after him being out all day and I'm so sleep deprived cos she's poorly, so just could sort the washing out! 10 mins goes by and he's brought her up to me 🤦🏻‍♀️ sorting the washing and going to work is my only peace 🥲

You've got bigger problems than Mother's Day.

Icantbedoingwithit · 10/03/2024 17:48

That’s bloody lousy! Arsehole!

GwinGwyn · 10/03/2024 17:49

This is not about Mothers Day I’m sorry to say.

This!

PurpleBugz · 10/03/2024 17:49

That's bad. My ex was like that. He's now an ex. Can you afford to leave?

Bringonthesunforthewashing · 10/03/2024 17:49

What a twat.

Get him told!!! - or feel sorry for yourself and rightly so, but find your voice and tell him it’s bang out of order

101Nutella · 10/03/2024 17:50

Happy Mother’s Day. Well done for being everything your kid needs.

please re think your daily balance or you will teach DC this is acceptable.

YANBU. You are working 24/7 with child. Chores etc need splitting. Next year think what u want to do. Organise some thing nice to be delivered or a trip out and just do it. Without him.

Bringonthesunforthewashing · 10/03/2024 17:50

To add, my dp used to be like that until I found my voice and explained what a shit he was being, total opposite now

Bringonthesunforthewashing · 10/03/2024 17:51

Oh and finally, start planning Father’s Day now, you will be out all day and do exactly the same as he did when you get home 😊

buswankerz · 10/03/2024 17:52

Why are you tolerating this shit op? It's not going to get any better. He's selfish and entitled.

hoonicorn · 10/03/2024 17:59

I hate all the "well you know what to do on Father's Day" tit for tat.

How old is the baby OP? This is unacceptable and I hope you realise that most fathers do their fair share and then do even more on Mother's Day to make things easier on mum. Yours can't be arsed with the ABSOLUTELY BARE MINIMUM looking after his own child (while you do something that benefits the entire family by the way) on Mother's Day.

I hate the idea that fathers look after their kids or "babysit" as if they are doing the mum a favour. It's literally HALF of his responsibility.

Seriously think through if you can continue being so used and disrespected with this man for the rest of your life. Also don't be a martyr. Speak up and say absolutely fucking not. People like this take liberties if you let them. You don't have to let them.

opentoadvice88 · 10/03/2024 19:38

He’s not a partner for starters

Barneysma2 · 10/03/2024 19:45

Some men really are just so pathetic, same old story yet again. You should have turned round to him and asked him why he's such a pathetic piece of shit he can't even cope with his own child for half hour. Makes my blood boil these lazy pig men who just can't even look after their own child especially as you are very clearly tired and need a break. This needs nipping in the bud NOW. You should have gone out for a few hours on your own and just left him with the baby, he wouldn't have had a choice then.

This. WHY are you putting up with this? Dont.

PTSDBarbiegirl · 10/03/2024 20:40

Do fuck all for Fathers Day and reconsider how you want to live.

Beezknees · 10/03/2024 20:50

This isn't a mother's day problem. Why can he not parent his own baby?
